Green Machine

Green Machine’s official biography begins in 1988, when a carnival accident brought together the three original members who comprised Third Eye. The band released two singles on the Prospective label, both now out of print. Attracted to their unique guitar/ organ/.drums blend of psychotic rock and roll, Twin/Tone-Prospective signed the trio in 1992. Upon signing, they changed their name to Green Machine to avoid conflict with several other similar titled groups.

Green Machine’s 1st CD, King Mover, elicited comments of enigma and adulation from press and consumers alike. Comparisons to Sonic Youth, Deep Purple, The Litter, and MC5 were suggested, but at best web vague comparisons. Only by hearing the band, and witnessing their insane and fantastic live performances, can you understand Green Machine.

Green Machine now returns from a 2500 mile trip through the dangerous south with their second CD on Prospective-Twin/Tone. Produced by the original God of Hellfire, Arthur Brown, The CD, Sonic Lobotomy, accentuates the most twisted elements from their debut King Mover. Arthur Brown was startled by the band’s gigantic sound, created from an organic blend of Hammond and Farfisa organs, Super Fuzzd guitars, and barreling drums. Brown’s producing consisted of dancing about the room while the three piece melded distortion. He did step out one evening to record lead vocals on Vicar, a song perfectly tailored for the God of Hellfire, written by a band whose sound continuously is called “a religious experience.” Sonic Lobotomy is a 65 minute dynamic explosion that awaits your attention.
