The Nightmares

The Nightmares are Phillip Shelley, vocals and guitars; Ned Hayden, guitars and vocals; Ed Shanahan, bass; Tex Lyon, guitars; Stephen Danziger, drums.

The Nightmares are a year old, and grew out of New York City's teen combo, the Student Teachers. While hanging out in the bars around Columbia University, Shelley and Hayden cut classes, wrote songs and plotted the Nightmares, incited to rock by heroes the Kinks and the Modern Lovers.

As evidenced by their debut single, Baseball Altamont b/w Hold On And Pray, the band members are avid Mets fans. In spite of that and the team's good fortune in '05, the highlight of this season may have been the Baseball Altamont release party held at Shea Stadium, where the Nightmares saw their name flashed on the stadium scoreboard.
