The Suburbs
The Suburbs, from Minneapolis, formed and began playing orginal material in the fall of 1977. Their sound is influenced musically by everyone from the Rolling Stones to Karlheinz Stockhausen - which is to say they're well educated but not needlessly eclectic or unfocused. Their lyrics are full of humor and empathy and their style is immediately rhythmic and balanced, yet subtle and challenging.
