Coyote Records
Coyote Records, founded by Bill Ryan (partner in Hoboken record store Pier Platters) and Steve Fallon (whose family owns Hoboken Restaurant and rock’n roll landmark Maxwell’s), was the first addition to the Twin/Tone family. Coyote, too, was mostly a hobby label in its early years, releasing a handful of records by Maxwell’s regulars like Beat Rodeo, Chris Stamey, and the Feelies offshoot the Trypes.
By uniting with Twin/Tone on 1985, Coyote was able to hire its first time employee, Julie Panebianco, and has since tripled the size of its roster. Ryan has since left the label, while Fallon remains to direct operations and coordinate A&R. Ex-Individual and New York Rocker Managing Editor Glenn Morrow replaced Panebianco (now at Warner Bros.) in October of 1986 and handles the day-to-day affairs of the label.
Coyote recently moved into offices in New York. Coyote releases carry a TTC prefix.
